Oklahoma Trout Stocking Schedule

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has released its trout stocking schedule for 2009. The department will be releasing trout in nine different lakes and streams in the state during the year.

The department did say, however, that the Little Dixie Community Action Agency decided not to continue the trout stocking program at Clayton Lake in southeastern Oklahoma this year but did advise fisherman in that part of the state to check out the excellent trout fishing opportunities at
Robbers Cave State Park and at the Lower Mountain Fork River.

The tentative trout stocking schedule is contingent on weather conditions and the availability of trout:

Altus Lugert/Quartz Mountain
Jan. 8, 22
Feb. 5, 19
March 5, 19

Watonga
Jan. 8, 22
Feb. 5, 19

Lake Carl Etling
Carl Etling will receive just two stockings because of low water level.
November 1, 2008 and January 6, 2009.
