Undefeated in the Offshore Super Series Extreme Class, the Miss GEICO powerboat racing team continues to dominate what many consider one of the world’s most daring sports – offshore powerboat racing. “We’re really excited about our season so far,” said Miss GEICO Driver Marc Granet – a veteran who earned his racing stripes in the sport’s outboard catamaran classes before tackling the tenacity of turbine performance engines in the extreme class. “We’ve put in some pretty powerful performances thanks to our team’s world-class crew and technology.”

That technology will be showcased front and center at next weekend’s Horny Toad Offshore Super Series National Championship Power Boat Race in Central Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks. A longtime offshore fan favorite, races at Lake of the Ozarks mark a high point in every team’s season and holds a special place in the hearts of the Miss GEICO team. “This is one of the defining race sites of our sport,” said John Haggin, owner of the Miss GEICO team.image “The history that comes out of powerboat racing on Missouri’s waters transcends time, talent and technology in a way that bridges the history of our sport with the possibilities and potential that the future holds.”

The Miss GEICO team will mightily display both possibility and potential with the inclusion of their turbine engines - – truly the future of the offshore extreme class - in the LOTO races. Powered by the same engines that once propelled helicopters in the first Gulf War, Miss GEICO’s performance reigns supreme. “Locking in our standing as the industry’s best by claiming the Offshore Super Series National Championship is the ideal outcome for this weekend’s races,” said Scotty Begovich, veteran racer and throttlelman for the Miss GEICO team. “We’re celebrating an undefeated season – but, it’s important to understand that such a stellar record doesn’t develop overnight. A lot of hard work, passion and perseverance have been invested into the Miss GEICO team to get the returns we’re celebrating this season.”

A team of committed competitors with their eyes collectively on the prize of pride that comes with a national championship – the men and women behind Miss GEICO quickly acknowledge that winning is only a part of their equation for excellence. “We are looking forward to giving it our best and delighting fans with go-fast excitement unlike anything they’ve ever seen,” said Haggin, “…and while we’re in high gear and ready to win on race days, we’re running at that level of commitment every day in everything we do. We’re programmed to perform. Aristotle said it best, ‘We are the result if what we do every day. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit.”
