Senate Commitee Looking at Ways to Boost Sheriff Deputy Pay

A Missouri State Senate committee has been formed to look into ways of boosting the pay of sheriff deputies across the state.

According to Sen. Wes Shoemeyer, D-Clarence, 91 of Missouri’s 114 counties have deputies with a salaries so low they qualify for public assistance. That equates to almost four out of five deputies being at or below the public assistance level.image[more]

Small business owners’ confidence fell to a new low in October.

National City’s Business Confidence Index measures the economic outlook and hiring plans of small business owners in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
