Reminder to Seniors: Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Enrollment is November 15 - December 31

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today urged all Arkansas seniors to sign-up for the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan which best fits their needs. The enrollment period begins November 15 and runs through December 31, 2007.

“As a health care professional, I encourage every senior in Arkansas to review their prescription coverage every year,” Boozman said. “It is important for Arkansas seniors to have the proper coverage they need.”…[more]

Arkansas Architecture Students to Build Outdoor Classroom for Local School

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Architecture professor Michael Hughes and 12 School of Architecture students are breaking ground this week on a new outdoor learning classroom for Washington Elementary School. Forget about golden shovels - the architecture students are digging foundations with a mini-excavator and skid steer while the school children look on.

Hughes has led several award-winning design/build projects and believes hands-on experience is critical for student architects.[more]

Rogers, Akansas High School Considers Hiring Fundraiser for Athletic Program

The Rogers (AR) School Board is considering a proposal that it hire a professional fundraiser to solicit donations to support high school athletics. Rogers Athletic Director Mark Holderbaum, brought the idea of a fundraiser to the board.

Delegation Announces Arkansas Defense Projects

Arkansas’s Congressional delegation today announced that Congress has finalized legislation with funding for several projects critical to Arkansas’s military installations, research institutions and defense contractors.

Unique Carousel Opens Again in Little Rock

Built in 1924, shut down and almost sold to out-of-state buyers, Little Rock’s “over-the-jumps” carousel has been restored and is now back in operation at its new home in the Little Rock Zoo.
