Take a step back in time at Withrow Springs State Park to revel in old-fashioned culinary delights. Dutch oven cooking has been a tradition among visitors to Withrow Springs State Park for generations. All area Dutch oven enthusiasts are called to compete in our first annual Dutch oven cook-off September 23, 2011. This family friendly event celebrates outdoor fun at Withrow Springs State Park and encourages the continuation of the Dutch oven legacy. Contest will take place at the Crossbow Pavilion starting at 12 noon and runs until 6 pm. Spectators are invited to attend and judge this competition. An admission price of $2 per person will be charged to sample and judge entries. Based on results of audience choice voting, prizes will be awarded in three categories: 1) Breads 2) Main Dishes 3) Desserts. Contact the park to register your team or for more information on contest guidelines.
