Plant lovers, mark your calendars! May 10th is slated for the opening day of a new botanical garden in Fayetteville.
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks has been in the works for years and will be opening in phases. The first phase is the opening of a five acre section on the tenth of May. Eventually, the gardens will span about 86 acres.
The portion to be opened next month includes a rock and water garden as well as a variety of plants native to the Ozarks. This is the first outdoor site to be opened to the public.
Although workers have been hard at it to get the garens ready for visitors, it is expected to take years before the entire garden is ready.
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is located at 4703 North Crossover Road, near Lake Fayetteville Park.
