Help Plant Trees on Ward Branch Greenway
9 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, March 17
Appropriately on St. Patrick’s Day, we’ll be putting some green in Greene County! Everyone is invited to join us for a tree planting on Ward Branch Greenway, in the Shadowood Subdivision section of the trail, which if east off south Campbell, just south of James River Freeway. This is a collaboration between Ozark Greenways, Greene County Resource Planning, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Missouri Department of Conservation, James River Basin Partnership and the Southwest Missouri Flyfishers.
By planting native tree species along the trail corridor, we will expand the riparian corridor to improve stormwater control, provide wildlife habitat and diversify the urban forest. If possible, bring shovels, spades, rock bars, heavy rakes, workgloves and a water bottle. Dress appropriately and wear sturdy shoes.
Directions: Meet at the Belgian Waffle & Pancake House on the east side of south Campbell, just south of James River Freeway.
