American Trails is sponsoring a photography contest for images of National Recreation Trails across the country.
This is an annual contest and previous winning entries can be viewed at the American Trails website. The goal of the contest, according to American Trails, “is to highlight the diversity of the [trails] and to make more Americans familiar with these great trails.” Deadline for entries is December 15.
American Trails says it is “looking for good photos of trail users as well as special facilities, art on the trails, management issues, construction, and volunteers. We also want to see entries that cover the many types and uses of National Recreation Trails throughout America.”
Photos of any designated National Recreation Trail are eligible, and a list of those trails in the Ozarks can be found by searching the organization’s database at: http://tutsan.forest.net/trails/.
All the particulars about photo formats, contest rules and places to go to get more information can be found at: http://www.americantrails.org/nationalrecreationtrails/photocon.html .
