A Scholarship-Funded Summer Experience for Girls ages 13-17!

CALLING ALL GIRLS!

Ozark Natural Science Center announces a very special summer experience for girls ages 13-17. Our first ever Girls Pursuing Science experience will be held June 27 through July 2, 2011. The program will feature ONSC’s amazing female Teacher Naturalists and guest scientists in the fields of ecology, geology, astronomy and astrophysics, nature-inspired art, and more for a truly unique experience “by girls for girls.” The value of the camp is $800, but all attendees will receive a full scholarship through a generous gift from the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas and other exciting partners to be announced soon. In addition to the summer camp, participants will also receive a scholarship for a special winter girls retreat at ONSC. The combined value of these camps is over $1,200!

Registration is by a competitive application process. Girls should be 13 years of age before June 27 and ready to fully participate in an in-depth, intensive summer camp experience.

To apply, send a letter of interest with full contact information for a parent or guardian, a short essay by the applicant on why nature and science matter to her, to . Registration will close on June 8, 2011. Scholarships will be awarded by June 10, 2011. This is a very special opportunity and only a few applicants will be chosen to attend. Please note that there is no application form for this camp. Application materials consist of the parent letter and camper letter or essay as described above.
