Part of the Mark Twain National Forest will honor U.S. military members, veterans and their families by offering a free day use for everyone on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
The free day use only applies at North Fork Recreation Area along the North Fork of the White River in Ozark County and at Deer Leap Boat Launch on the Current River outside of Doniphan in Ripley County.
Stephens Campground and Recreation is offering free day use on November 11 at the Wild Boar Ridge Boat Launch on Council Bluff Lake in Iron County for all U.S. military members, veterans and their families.
“Offering free day use is a way to show our appreciation of all U.S. military and their families, and the sacrifices that they incur. It also encourages people to enjoy the outdoors and to connect to the land, improving the health and quality of both personal and community life,” said Mark Twain National Forest Supervisor Dave Whittekiend.
