Conservation Surplus Property Auction Set for Oct. 17 in Salem

Items on the block include cars, vans, trucks, dozers, ATVs, farm implements, boats, motors, fish finders office equipment, cameras, mechanic’s tools and more.


Imagine everything you would need to manage Missouri’s public forests, lakes and streams. Gather a random selection of all that used gear in one place and call out “What are you gonna give for it?!” Now you have a mental picture of what will happen at the Missouri Department of Conservation surplus property auction Oct. 17 in Salem.

The auction gets underway at 10 a.m. at the Conservation Department Maintenance Center at the junction of Highways 72 and 32. Auction items will be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 16. You can preregister at the auction site from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Oct. 16 or starting at 7:30 a.m. the day of the sale.

The more than 450 items to be sold at auction include cameras, televisions, VCRs, copiers, projectors, a public address system, a weather station, office furniture, tractors, bulldozers, bush hogs, front-end loaders, planters, plows, seed drills and mowers.

Camper shells, lawn mowers, used tires, a fork lift, a battery charger, an auto diagnostic analyzer, floor and hydraulic jacks, table saws, garage doors, generators, bathroom sinks, a water fountain, water tanks, space heaters and air conditioners.

More than 75 half-ton and three quarter-ton 4X4 pickup trucks, passenger vans, sedans, utility trailers, 15 boat trailers, more than 20 boats ranging from 14 to 20 feet, 19 outboard motors from 4 to 175 hp, fish finders, two canoes and nine all-terrain vehicles.

All property must be paid for on the day of the sale and before removal. Acceptable methods of payment include cash, MasterCard or Visa or personal checks with proper identification.
