Catfish Derby Planned at DeGray State Park

If you want to try your hand at catfishing, take in the free Hook, Line & Sinker Fishing Derby Sept. 11 at DeGray Lake Resort State Park’s Golf Course Pond 7 near Bismark, Arkansas.

The pond has been stocked with hundreds of catfish for participants to reel in. There are no age restrictions on fishing, but participants age 16 and over must have a valid Arkansas fishing license (available at the park marina). Bring lawn chairs, drinking water, and your own bait and tackle. The derby is sponsored by Southern Bancorp and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
