In Arkansas, voters approved a measure that would allow up to $300 million in natural resource bonds to be issued for water projects in the state. The proposal passed 65 percent to 35 percent.
The bonds would allow for grants and low interest loans to be issued through the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission for the purpose of building sewer and water projects.
In Missouri, Amendment 4 - Stormwater Control changed the structure of how bond funds are distributed to water projects in that state. The amendment passed by a 16 percent margin.
Also in Missouri, Proposition C regarding Renewable Energy for electric utilities passed by a wide margin as 66 percent of voters responded with a “yes” vote. The bill sets how much electricity needs to be generated by utility companies from renewable sources like wind, ethanol and solar.
